Over the next 3 months, one of the priorities has been to carry out some research into club structures and business plans. This has given us a better understanding of how courses with a resident club and visiting associations work and has allowed me to make recommendations for improved working arrangements. This is reflected in the new fee structure which is outlined below and will feed into a business plan. A business plan for the site will work alongside the management plan and will allow us to seek external funding for Clubhouse improvements. We are very keen that we don’t have an adhoc. or reactive approach to upgrading facilities, but a vision and ambition for the clubhouse that will drive membership and use of the site up. This piece of work will obviously be done in partnership with Annanhill Golf Club as leaseholders of the Clubhouse, as well as with all other individuals and organisations with an interest in the site.
An architect has also been commissioned to look at the existing clubhouse and to develop plans for upgrade, improvement and potential extensions. These plans will focus on:
- Integrating the starter’s office into the main clubhouse
- Upgrading the changing room, toilets, showers and locker facilities
- Creating an area to encourage juniors
- Creating a family area
- Creating a flexible space to be used for meetings, training, functions etc.
